DISNEYLAND "UNDER ATTACK"- MAX PAPESCHI

Max Papeschi is the 'hottest' digital artist of the moment. Disecrator, polemical and politician, director/ author in theater, television and film. As a figurative artist, his approach to the Art-World was an instant success both public and critics. His Politically Scorrect pop cites the 'American Life' revealing its horrors in a way so ironically realistic. From Mickey Mouse to the Ronald McDonald warmongering Nazi cult icons lose their sympathy turned into a collective nightmare. A new-pop poetry from the strong social content, but cut thin, ironic and always over the top.

WALKING IN CHARING CROSS ROAD..ART ON WINDOW!

A couple of weeks ago, during my usual summer vacation in London, i was walking in the evening with friends of mine. We were in Charing Cross Road and in front of the Central Saint Martins school i have been kidnapped by an art installation. Two students of visual art were on window, performing their art work. Cool!

LEIGH BOWERY, THE BRUTAL BEAUTY.

Leigh was a drag mama, an intellectual, a space alien, a club queen, a trans-performer and an advocate for creating your own reality. He was so avant-garde to transform himself into a living artwork.

 

He was a freaky icon. Was the London underground scene of the 80's-90's. Inspiration for special artists such as Galliano and McQueen. Creative energy, pure.

CABBAGE AND ART: JU DUOQI

Genius of a young Chinese artist. Ju Duoqi is not new in the use of food to create her works. The vegetables were the star, but now is the time of the cabbage. Her new project is called "The fantasies of Chinese cabbage." Only Chinese cabbage!!!

Cabbage come to life to become dolls, or emulation icons such as Marilyn Monroe, and Lady Gaga. It's pure creativity that liberates the imagination. Even the famous paintings of Van Gogh, Da Vinci and Warhol are played with colorful vegetables.

She uses a knife to slice the different colours and varieties of cabbage and holds them together using toothpicks. The cabbage is left to age for varying lengts of time.

Every piece of the sculpture is made from the vegetable, including their clothes, hats and jewellery.

The versatile artist, so i might call Cristophe Coppens. Theatrichal background and talent. His head pieces are famous in Laroche and Yamamoto shows.

Greg Bogin is a New York artist. His art is born from a contamination/contrapposition between minimalism and pop art. Bogin revisits the minimalism making it contemporary and less austere.

Li Kim Chuah is a collager artist and photographer based in Melbourne, Australia. It's a glamourous vintage taste!

 

Amy Kligman. Amy's work is a psychological study, observing people and patterns in their nature, their dreams, their mistakes. Social anxiety and awkwardness. It's about all life psychodramas.

 

 I really love her work... it's a perfect human representation!

Megan Van Groll. Megan is a really young artist from Honolulu. She studies her own relations to body, function and gender through her neo-realist interpretation and does so in a way that feels mundanely human while rendering each piece particulary poignant and oddly evocative.

Charly Roussel. Charly is a young artist from Paris but he used to live in many different places. He  makes collages out of fashion advertisements. He changes the 'innocent' fashion ads into a bizarre and sexually exlicit images.

SOMETHING NO ONE ELSE WOULD DO: IRIS SCHIEFERSTEIN

Iris Schieferstein is a controversial german artist who works with dead animals to create her pieces of art.

She joins the fragments together to new creatures and this give a new faces to death.

With her latest work she's totally gone to the extreme. It's about shoes, The Gun Hoof.

I definitely find her point of view grotesque and, to be honest, i don't know if we're ready to this kind of revolution. But, anyway, her work certainly moves. It's dynamic, subversive, somewhat interesting...different.

DE-CONSTRUCTIONISM: JESSICA OGDEN

Jamaican birthplace, she moved to London looking for a freedom that she hadn't found in America were she was studying.
Her fashion idea is really artistic. She works out and on the body, trying to find a kind of balance between clothes that are for the body and clothes that are against. She develops a vision that gives a new shape to the body. She is a master de-constructionist and has a fascination with old and distressed fabrics which has been a salvage fashion, with a strong respect for craft. Among her favorite sources of salvage, old patchwork quilts.
"The nicest element of quilts and quilt making is the inherent history that is litterally sewn into the work".
Recycling, assembling..telling people stories through belonged and lived fabrics.

ADELE MILDRED

Definitely a character, a potential icon. She looks like a young Elizabeth Taylor. Adele Mildred is head of atelier for Stephen Jones. Friend of Dita Von Teese who introduced her to Stephen Jones,  today Adele presides over a workroom of twenty-five milliners whom she lovingly describes as “a bunch of old ladies sitting around a table gossiping and making hats!” all busily executing his mad vision not just for his own label, but the host of fashion visionaries who rely on Jones each season (John Galliano, Gareth Pugh, Marc Jacobs...).

She grew up in a small suburb of Minneapolis, but she spent much time in France (because of her  mum). Her french background made her feel special and she spent a lot of time alone with her imagination, developing her unique visual sense. She studied fashion in New York, she use to design clothing and create costumes for indipendent films..but her real obsession was for the hats.

LI XIAOFENG: CERAMIC CLOTHES!

Li Xiaofeng is a beijing artist who creates clothing pieces made from traditional chinese ceramics. He makes the clothings from ceramic shards which are sewn together on a leather undergarment.
I find his work really curious but definitely interesting!
Last challenge for this chinese artist is to create two polo for SS011  Lacoste collection. The result is amazing..look at these!!!
