TERRY RICHARDSON "MOM&DAD" EXHIBITION AT COLETTE

I was in Paris for fashion week but unfortunately i had no time to go around snooping. From the September 26th till November 5th, there's one more reason to go to Colette,"Mom & Dad". The Terry Richardson exhibition that features photos of his parents; a series of portraits, letters and interiors document the very origins of Terry Richardson.  Treating the subject as any of his other shoots, Terry delves deeply and indiscriminately with his camera revealing the all too personal nature of his life… his family life.  The exhibition is joined by a small pop-up store, which will include a selection of products such as T-shirts, G-shock and BabyG Casio watches, Richardson’s Moscot collaborative glasses, “Uncle Terry” figure collection, Terry’s custom bear, and all of Terry’s books.

ENCHANTED PALACE-LONDON- (BEFORE SEEING)

"We really wanted to try something completely different that gave us a way to take a fresh look at the palace's history and the lives of the people who lived here" "We want people to connect with the emotions." Alexandra Kim, one of the curators of the exhibition.

Stephen Jones, Boudicca, Vivienne Westwood...create installations using "incredible and dramatic stories of the people who lived in the palace as the springboard." I'm really excited and I look forward to admiring the magic of these installations to be able to tell, and try to pass something that will surely have an high emotional impact.

MADAME GRèS, LA COUTURE à L'OEUVRE. PARIS MUSéE BOURDELLE

It was the 30's and Coco Chanel and Elsa Schiapparelli were already rivals. But a third lady of fashion began to be talked about: Germane Emile Crebs, better knows as Madame Grès.
She wanted to be a sculptor and she showed it working on the fabric as if it were stone.
Statues of pure couture. The uniqueness of her art is exhibited at De Bourdelle Museum in Paris, in a show on stage until July 24th.
Not to be missed!!!!

SOMETHING NO ONE ELSE WOULD DO: IRIS SCHIEFERSTEIN

Iris Schieferstein is a controversial german artist who works with dead animals to create her pieces of art.
She joins the fragments together to new creatures and this give a new faces to death.
With her latest work she's totally gone to the extreme. It's about shoes, The Gun Hoof.
I definitely find her point of view grotesque and, to be honest, i don't know if we're ready to this kind of revolution. But, anyway, her work certainly moves. It's dynamic, subversive, somewhat interesting...different.
Don't miss her exhibition in London @ MILKandLEAD Art Gallery (from 17/02/11).

ALTERED BARBIE AND KEN

I was just having fun browsing through the San Francisco "Altered Barbie Exhibition" photos...
I love the way the artists represents their different point of view showing their "own" Ken amd Barbie.
They place this classic childhood toys in a different light.. funny, intriguing, curious, freaky, grotesque, weird, crazy... look at my selection!!!

First stop @ Somerset house, London! It's all about Maison Martin Margiela 20 The Exhibition.
It was really exciting for me to explore the themes that have underpinned the ethos of the fashion house since its creation...
